Privacy Policy
Harmonica Tuner & Practice · Effective 3 August 2026
The app has no accounts and no server of its own. What you record and write stays on your device.
Recordings, pitch traces, notes, imported PDFs and photos, and the harmonica tabs you create are stored on your device. The app does not hand those files or their contents to the advertising SDK.
What is stored on your device
- Recordings and the pitch trace computed while recording
- Take titles, notes and practice analysis results
- Sheets you imported and harmonica tabs you wrote
- App settings such as reference pitch and note naming
- The last confirmed state of the ad removal purchase
Deleting an item in the app deletes its local data. Uninstalling the app removes the data in its app-specific storage. When you export, a copy is handed to an app or a location you choose, and what happens next is governed by that app or storage service.
Advertising and automatically processed information
To cover running costs, the app uses Google AdMob's GMA Next-Gen SDK to show a small banner in the Log and Sheets lists. According to Google's own disclosure, the advertising SDK may automatically collect and share the following for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention:
- IP address, and the approximate location inferred from it
- User interactions such as app launches, taps and ad views
- Diagnostics relating to app and SDK performance
- Device or account identifiers such as the advertising ID and app set ID
Information processed by Google is subject to Google's privacy policy and advertising policies. Data in transit is encrypted with TLS.
Privacy choices
The app uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP). Where consent is legally required, a privacy choice screen is shown before any ad is requested. Where the choice can be revisited, the app's settings show "Manage privacy choices". Your advertising ID and personalised-ads preference can also be managed in Android's own privacy settings.
The ad removal purchase
The app offers "Remove ads" as a one-time, non-consumable product through Google Play Billing. The payment sheet and payment details such as card numbers are handled by Google Play directly; the app has no access to them. The app checks only whether the ad removal product is owned, and whether a payment is complete or pending.
Once a purchase is confirmed, only the ad-free state is stored on the device, so ads stay off offline. Purchase tokens, order IDs, prices and Google account details are never stored in the app or sent to any server of ours. The app re-checks the purchase with Google Play on launch and on returning to the foreground; if a complete query shows a refund or cancellation, ads may reappear. Once the purchase applies, no further ad requests are made, and from the next launch the app does not start the advertising SDK or the consent flow at all.
Children
The app is not designed for children under 13. The target audience setting in Play Console and the child-directed treatment setting in AdMob are fixed to match before release.
