Trance · Last updated: July 22, 2026
Your focus data never leaves your device, and nothing Trance collects can identify you.
Data stored on your device
Trance runs no servers of its own. Focus history, the stars in your galaxy, and statistics are stored only on your device. Deleting the app removes all of its on-device data.
Accounts and identifying information
There are no accounts or logins. Trance does not request or collect email addresses, contacts, or other information that identifies you. It does not request or collect precise location (see below for the country-level information used in analytics).
App analytics
Trance has no ads or advertising trackers. To improve the app, it uses Google Analytics for Firebase without advertising-ID support. The following information may be processed for analytics:
- Device identifier: an app-instance identifier. The advertising identifier (IDFA) and IDFV are not collected.
- Coarse location: country or region inferred from an IP address. Precise location is never collected.
- Product interaction: events such as onboarding completion, focus-session start and completion, and screen views.
- Device and app information: device type, OS version, app version, and language.
This information is not used for advertising or tracking, and is never linked to your identity or your focus history. Personalized-ad signals are disabled, and Google processes this data as our analytics provider.
Notifications
Session completion and daily reminders use local notifications only. Permission is requested only when you choose to enable them.
Payments
The current version is completely free and has no in-app purchases. If paid features are added later, Apple will process payments through App Store StoreKit. Trance will never see or store payment details, and this policy will be updated.
Children's privacy
Trance is suitable for all ages and does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
